Not author's best work

I found the story weak and disliked the main character intensely. Although the narrator portrays some female characters well, she uses ridiculous voices for others which I found distracting. I'm afraid the male voices were even worse. I wouldn't recommend using a credit on this audio book.

Good Story.

Good story, with an unexpected twist in the tail, but really didn't like the narration with dreadful affected accents for many of the characters.

Great book spoiled ......

A brilliant read but, dear oh dear the narrator was so annoying. She tried and failed miserably to use different voices for the different characters.Almost gave up several times.

Writing not very good

Would you try another book written by Jane Casey or narrated by Penelope Rawlins?

No. The narrator's voice was very young and considering she is supposed to be an educated woman and teacher she was pathetic.

What could Jane Casey have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The story line was not believeable. Narrator was conveniently talking to all the characters without the police and solved the mystery by herself. If she had been drawn as an intelligent person it might have been believeable.

What didn’t you like about Penelope Rawlins’s performance?

It was okay. I think it was the story that didn't help her young voice sound convincing.

Any additional comments?

Why does Audible think we have to have questions to answer in order to write a review.

Read brilliantly

I really enjoyed this book even if sometimes I found the main character a bit annoying. The person reading is brilliant, clear and well paced with a fantastic ability to change tone and accent, she really enhanced the story for me and kept me gripped to the end.
