LIPS THE COLOR OF GARDEN SLUGS

SICK THRILLS IN A HOUSE THAT THRIVES ON SICK THRILLS.
This book starts with a fat chick, having sex with several men at the same time, then moves on to the dismemberment of several of those involved. Later there is sex with animals, defecation and permanent scaring of a woman's private parts. This should be enough to tell most of you that you are not interested in this book.

Bowling groupies?
If you are still with me, you may be wondering if I finished the book. Yes, I did. There was enough of a story to make me to continue to listen and it did not commit the ultimate sin of being totally boring. There was a little redundancy, such as ANOTHER PARAPLANE RAPE. I found parts of it funny, because I used to drive a route at 2am, years ago and at that time they had on the radio a show that discussed RV, Remote Viewing, OBE, Out of Body Experience and all this other paranormal stuff like it was as serious as all get out. Just like in this book they would use lots of terms that made it sound like a real science. It is amazing how many words you can make by putting Tele, Para or Trans in front of them. There is one real funny part where this guy leaves a real nasty message to telemarketers on his answering machine.

SO WHAT, IF SHE IS A NYMPHO, SO IS EVERY CHICK IN THIS PLACE.
The majority of the characters in this are porno stars, used to be porno stars or porno star want-a-be's.

TRICKS AND COPS CALL ME A WHORE, BUT I DON'T CARE, I KNOW WHAT I AM.
The narrator has three voices, biker male, southern male and one female voice for all females. The two main characters have biker voices and half the time I could not tell who was talking. All the women sounded a like, but since they all had he same personality and big boobs, it really did not matter.

WHAT IF I HAD A SQUARE A##HOLE, COULD I S##T TV'S?

Not for anyone with a weak stomach....

Or even anyone who doesn't like endless, graphic descriptions of sex with emphasis on S&M, ritualized murder, and debasement of women. I love haunted house stories and even horror stories but not stories enshrining sexual perversion & death. Haunted house stories usually involve sex at some point but this book is only about sex and demonic rituals. Overall, it was a yawn. Not scary. The horror is all about shocking (and titillating) the reader with perverse sex, death, & demons.

The narrator was not bad at straight narration but I didn't care for his character voices. His male voices mostly sounded like old men or foreigners but were not terrible. His female voices were pretty terrible although I give him points for trying. It can't be easy imitating voices of the opposite sex.

Overall, I rate the book as only 'fair.' The Legend of Hell House is a far better book in a similar vein; on the other hand, I did listen till the end.

Good Story Mediocre Character Voices

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not really I found it to be a bit boring but I think I would have liked it better if the narration wasn't there. I really thought the voices sounded cheesy, they were often mixed up and you could definitely tell where he took breaks from reading. The narrator to me was truly grating and the main character and the guy on the outside sounded to old and like it was a chore to do that voice. This is one story for me that if I would have simply read the book I may have liked it better. Oh and the girl he saved Debbie her voice was just piercing and horrible was that supposed to be young? Very strained and hard to listen to. I know no woman or child whose voice is like that.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

the end.......the psychics

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Andy Mack?

I am not sure

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

sure they would have women sounding like women and men sounding like men not like sandpaper. Would probably make a great movie in fact.

Any additional comments?

As in every book review read or listen to it anyway, personalities are different what ruffles my feathers could mean nothing to you. The book is definitely worth your time. I simply did not enjoy the narration.

Excellent Horror Story

What did you love best about Flesh Gothic?

I've read and enjoyed several Edward Lee books, but this was my first audiobook by the author. I found it excellent from start to finish. There have been some of his books that were too graphic for me to finish, not this one though. The story, character development and narration were all well done. I'm hoping that in the near future even more of Lee's works will be available on audible.

Excellent Book!!

Supernatural terror with a twist. Very sexy read and the narrator nails it! I love how he had a different voice for each character. I was riveted from the very first page. Edward Lee slays!
