Predictable story, very well presented
Listened tio this book because the earlier reviews gave me high expectations. On the plus side, it is perfectly suited tio the audio format... But on the negative, I'd worked out more than just the gist of the mystery when I was about a third of the way in, so the ending was so surprise at all.
Intelligent historical adventure and mystery, with lots of twists and turns. Deserves a seconds listen.
Why did I buy this!?
What would have made The Good Neighbor better?
Remove all the cliches and start again!
Would you ever listen to anything by AJ Banner again?
What didn’t you like about Rebecca Roberts’s performance?
Sounding whiny and gossipy seemed to be the natural state.
You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Must have done; as I continued to the end. But I felt like a dreadful vulture, listening to other people's upper middle class soap-opera style calamities.
Any additional comments?
Next time, I'll read the other reviews before buying, rather than just the publisher's blurb.

Kept thinking it was going to pick up, but it just didn't. Recommend you don't bother.
Predictable but satisfying
Please start breathing deeply. Take the time to smell the flowers.
Predictable but satisfying listen.
Had been curious for some time, and the TV show prompted me to finally go for it. Liked it a lot; now curious about what the sequel might hold.
Reasonably decent story; but awful reader, and absolutely riddled with clichés. Not sure if I'll try any more by this author.
waste of time
I kept listening because the reviews on Amazon were so good, hoping it will pick up at any minute. But boring and poorly written; and the decent narration did not make up for that.
Clever, funny, romantic and exciting... loved it from beginning to end (especially the phrase "kissed her for 169 years").
