This book starts well but promises more than it delivers - overall it's slow paced, dull and has an ending that is easily guessed.

Great book poorly read
Loved the book in spite of the reader - his irritating tone and failure to distinguish characters effectively almost made me give up listening. His reading does a great disservice to this fascinating novel.

Impressed by the other reviews I chose this book not knowing a thing about it - so glad I did. Walker gives us a wonderfully atmospheric setting, fascinating characters and a great story that intrigues till the end - just couldn't stop listening! Wonderfully read also. More Walker books please.

Another fantastic book in this series - can't wait for Susan Hill to write another. Brilliantly read by Stephen Pacey. Highly recommended.

Martin Jarvis brings this marvellous book to life with his extraordinarily skilful reading. Can't recommend highly enough.

Intriguing, compelling narrative which investigates the history of a boy convicted for murder as a child and the impact of his reappearance in the life of the psychologist who helped condemn him - beautifully and sensitively written and read by the fantastic James Wilby.
