If it wasn't true story, it would be unbelievable

I wasn't prepared for this, assumed it was a novel - a winding tale, but incredible and mind-blowing. Forced me to rethink my way of looking at the Police and the justice system. Thank God there are some people out there who are prepared to stand up for what is right.

A Great storyline enjoyed it enormously

Extremely well-crafted story - I will definitely follow this trail. DS Lucy Black now on my list of books to look out for.

Such a gloomy read

I suppose the story was sound enough, but such a gloomy tale - a bit like a whiny child - on and on and on. Kept waiting for something exciting to happen. Someone to play a hero role - it didn't happen. Starting to get turned off English drama stories - need something with a bit of a lift to it!

Well paced excitement

Built up into one of those stories that stays with you for some time after you have read/listened to it

I'd forgotten how good Grisham could be.

I have had this book in my library for quite some time, finally got around to listening to it. What a great story! One of those you can't wait for the opportunity to take the dog out for a walk so you can continue listening. A treat worth waiting for!

Good, but not McGee's best

Enjoyed it, but a little too convex to be a five star. Would have preferred something where the plot was a little more straight forward. Still MUST FOR ALL McGee followers.

Exceptional book - great plot, seat edge stuff

Really enjoyed the story, looked for something else from this author, disappointed not to find another book.

Harry Bosch at his best

Keeping true to his tradition, another brilliantly exciting Harry Bosch story. Can't wait for the next, this guy is unstoppable.

Slow to develop, but a great plot

If a story can grow on you, this one surely does. Just when you think it is coming to a conclusion, off it goes in another direction.

I love this book

I have become an ardent fan of Travis McGee stories, just the right balance of excitement and humor - who wouldn't want to live a life like his?
