Joe Pike - my hero

The Cole and Pike combo must be in there amongst the best in crime thriller partnerships. Robert Crais tells the story in that engaging way that mingles a little light humor into some real edge of seat storytelling.

What a different perspective!!!

Such a novel way of looking at the second world war - through the kind eyes of Death!

Better and better - third and best in the series

I have enjoyed all three books in the series, but looking back Robert Harris saved the best to last

A Bit Silly

I love the Terry Pratchett books, but quit halfway through this one as it all got a bit silly.

Good, but not McGee's best

I felt the plot a little too complex to make for really enjoyable listening. I love the character best when there is a little more humor, which some of the Travis McGee books have. This one fell short.

If it wasn't true story, it would be unbelievable

I wasn't prepared for this, assumed it was a novel - a winding tale, but incredible and mind-blowing. Forced me to rethink my way of looking at the Police and the justice system. Thank God there are some people out there who are prepared to stand up for what is right.

A Great storyline enjoyed it enormously

Extremely well-crafted story - I will definitely follow this trail. DS Lucy Black now on my list of books to look out for.

Such a gloomy read

I suppose the story was sound enough, but such a gloomy tale - a bit like a whiny child - on and on and on. Kept waiting for something exciting to happen. Someone to play a hero role - it didn't happen. Starting to get turned off English drama stories - need something with a bit of a lift to it!

I'd forgotten how good Grisham could be.

I have had this book in my library for quite some time, finally got around to listening to it. What a great story! One of those you can't wait for the opportunity to take the dog out for a walk so you can continue listening. A treat worth waiting for!
