Tellement Francaise pourquoi

Very well read but a little too long, the characters became a bit If a bother to invest in. The ridiculous French insertions. I stayed with it having read similar criticisms of the narration. Might just take them in board in future

Insightful

So readily recognisable after some real thought . The idea of the professional religious person. The mind ruling the heart...family second the ‘other persons’ plight quietly taking pre-eminence over the essential needs of the family. I thought Anna’s inability to forgive was so very very moving.

Love Trollope

Initially I found the narrator’s voice a little condescending- but it grew on me during the overlong narrative. Lady Eustace became a little difficult a character either to like or maintain an interest. The Trollope narrative was a overlong.

not altogether life affirming

well narrated, a storyline i found difficult to stay with, depressed the spirita a little. repetive aspects a little like life i suppose. not sure I'd reccommend as 'good lusten'
