An amazing prequel

I read When Tomorrow Calls first so I was already familiar with the world that the author has crafted for us. It's an absolutely brilliant prequel.

We get all back story from the characters that we see in the trilogy and I loved that. Also the investigation into the Sigma society, Keke meeting Marco etc is all really well written and very entertaining. I'm deliberately avoiding plot reveals!

The characters, even the minor ones are lovingly crafted and you really get into the story through how good the characters are. That's not saying that the story itself isn't really compelling because it is! The action is relentless without being overwhelming or overdone. The pace and the tension that builds in the book is fantastic.

The author has an amazing world-building talent in this near-future that we find ourselves in.

A brilliantly written Dystopian. Very good!

This is a relationship story in ways as we have two sisters brilliantly written with this close relationship which helps to drive you deeper into the story itself. All the characters are really well done and there's plenty of chemistry within the book in that respect on character interaction.

The story and the premise is great. Caelin works really well as a lead character and her motivation of wanting to protect her sister doesn't detract from this or stop her developing as a character. We get plot reveals and twists and turns as we go through the book and it all feels well timed with great pace to the book. I like how this gives us more perspective or different perspectives as we go.

The narration is great and really matches the pace of the book and also works well with the story and all the characters in it.

A great book with an old fashion detective feel

The narration immediately put me in mind of a Dick Tracy type detective story. Especially where you have the officer telling him what's going on and how they need his help.

I like the level of detail that the author gives to the action and I felt myself drawn in to the world that's created for us. The characters are big and bold and it's quite intense in places. Although absorbing with it.

I found myself invested in our hero and wanting him to win, which is a must in my opinion, and I really like Jake Stark as the main/leading character.

Very enjoyable

A cool adventure book

I really liked how they used dinosaurs in this book. No cloning, just actual dino's. Which was great. I also liked how they challenged the notion of what we think about dinosaurs such as them hunting as pack animals. Also the domesticated dinosaur was a nice inclusion. Nice little touches that add to the story. It's certainly a strap yourself in for the ride sort of book. Non-stop action.

I really liked all the characters. We get a good variety of them without their being too many. We focus on a few but we do also get everyone included. I really enjoyed it throughout and the ending was great from action to build up of the ultimate consequences. Very good.

The narration matched the book very well and kept me interested in the story as well as giving good pacing.

An amazing follow on to book one!

I really enjoyed book one. The story felt new and different and the writing style was great. This carries on very nicely in that vein. We have to very different cultures melding together, learning about each other and in the case of the settlers from earth forming a new society. I like the bad guy who is ever present bubbling behind the scenes using his gifts to control and endanger everyone and everything. I love all the characters and watching their relationships develop is brilliant. Its so easy to listen too and a genuine pleasure to get to know our characters.

The world that's built for us is amazing. Interesting and fascinating to get to see.

I enjoyed this from start to finish and the finish certainly leaves you wanting and waiting for more. Lets hope we don't have long to wait!

Amazing story and characters

I love Sam as a lead. I also really like the friends he has gathered around him who can easily step up to take over being the main focal point at different points. All the characters are well written. The story or rather stories are all brilliant. Brilliant detail and descriptions and a great pace that moves us along. Quite literally I was hooked within moments.

This is a must read/listen too series that you really want to check out!

An incredible near future story!

I loved these stories which feel really different and evolve nicely. I really loved the vision of the future. The tech as well is really cool! I loved the elements that the tech gave to the story from the start where its interesting to taking a really important part in the story progression. Also really solid characters. A great pace to the story which mixes a good level of detail and description to immerse you in the story but also a sense of progression with good momentum. Really compelling characters throughout with a good solid lead.

Cool story with a great characters

This starts really well with a meteor shower leading to a roller coaster adventure for Alex. Alex and her compatriots on this thrilling twist filled ride are all really well written and solid characters. The story moves at a good pace revealing new information and plot twists as it goes. Really enjoyable! I listened to it in just over one sitting thanks to a long journey and to be honest I would have loved an excuse to drive a bit further and listen to it all. It's really easy to get into. The narrator is the author and does a great job of getting you into the book. I really enjoyed the narration, which is a skill in itself, so really great job!!

Your new action hero! Read this series!

A brilliant story. It actually made me really want to have a go on an airship which is strange as guess what (not a surprising spoiler) the airship doesn't last long. Sam Reilly is a great character. A mixture of your typical square jawed hard guy hero mixed with someone looking for something and also someone who wants the best for others and the environment as that's sort of his day job. I also strangely liked Sam's father. A total megalomaniac and he's pitched that way but in his own detached strange way he's pretty cool. We have an interesting love interest/match for Sam with a decent and also strong female lead. I liked the search that we go on.

It's a roller-coaster and its a good one!
Action/thriller books are often (in my opinion) hard to narrate as you have to do decent characters and story and then step up for the action. That's done really well here! I loved it from start to finish, and I most definitely want to see what adventures Sam is going to take us on.

I couldn't put it down!

This was a gem of a book. It started and I instantly got into the main character. Probably at the lowest ebb she could be at but Stacey/Lydia is just so likeable. Intelligent, vulnerable, a bit messed up, sensible just a really human and real character.
She's about to do something really bad at the start but although you don't want her too you are still on her side in terms of understanding. She just gets even more interesting as we progress through the book. I like her boss and her tech/gaming friend that we meet as the story progresses. It kept me on my toes. We go from a diving/rescue/mystery and at first I'm wondering where its going but it opens up to this really interesting link to everything else that's going on in the story. Very good.

I really liked the audible narration. Great character identification and also great pace for the general story as well.
