Excellent

This book is thoroughly gripping and read well. It recounts Shackleton's adventures in a dramatic way that keeps you wanting more. One of my top 5 audio listens.

Love it!

Any additional comments?

This is a must have for all Beatrix a Potter fans. The stories come to life brilliantly and all the narrators are excellent. It is suitable for all ages and is a relaxing listen, great for car journeys. What is interesting is there are done stories here that I'm not so familiar with so this is a good book to refresh those childhood memories!!

Brilliant narration

Any additional comments?

Anne Hathaway does a great job of bringing this story to life. She uses different voices to depict the characters and I looked forward to my next instalment each day. The story is good, and there are some variations from the film which is interesting. I will definitely be looking for other books read by Anne Hathaway. My only complaint is I wish it was longer!!!

Disappointing

Any additional comments?

I bought this book as I enjoyed the TV short film on last Christmas. But I am very disappointed. The story is very slow and spends a lot of time introducing characters. The language is also very offensive and needless, although some might say accurate and authentic. On a positive note, the narrator does a good job in changing his voice to express characterisation. This is my first Robert Ryan book but I'm not sure yet if I will try another.

Fantastic stories and value for money

Any additional comments?

This book contains a collection of children's stories, all classics. I use this collection to help me relax and even sleep, and the gentle nature of the stories does just that. Obviously these are children's stories but they appeal to adults too. All the narrators do a great job and the length of the total collection makes it super value for money with just one credit.
You can't go wrong.

Fantastic

Any additional comments?

Twilight is a brilliant series. It is written in the first person so you feel totally involved with the plot, getting a thorough understanding of character motivations and intentions. The story is imaginative without being too young. A great book for all ages. The story is full of suspense and I can't wait to listen to the sequels too.

Brilliant escapism

Any additional comments?

Although this is my least favourite of the series, it is still an excellent book and worth listening to. The story deviates to look at the motivation of other characters which in essence enriches the book and gives the reader for information on the background and history of Jacob. This book has a super ending which is quite nail biting!! I am looking forward to listening to book 3 and 4. The narration isn't bad and I'm glad all of the series has the same narrator.

Relaxing story

Any additional comments?

This is a story I remember from childhood and it was just as good as I remembered. The narration was excellent and kept me interested. It is definitely worth listening to if you want a simple story to listen to in the evening. The American accent wasn't bad and the characters were suitably brought to life. I will look for other audible books from the authors and from the narrator, Joanna Ward.

Great for sleep

Any additional comments?

If you want to relax to the sounds of wildlife at the coast then this is perfect. There is no narration at all.

Great listen

Any additional comments?

This story is thoroughly engaging and a delight to hear. The narration is not bad but the characters could be brought to life a little more. But, a worthwhile listen.
