Enjoyable & well narrated

Both the author and narrator are new to me so I have been really pleased to find the combination is such a good one! Well paced plot, engaging characters and fabulous narration, I will certainly look for the next in the series!

Good story

Enjoyed the story but the narrator got on my nerves, all the female voices sounded like they were about to cry, but the most irritating part was the actual narration between speaking parts. I appreciate all narrators, it’s not a job that I could do st all, but I’m on the fence as to whether I can listen to the next book in the series or not which is a shame.

Amusing but a bit long winded

Well I enjoyed the actual concept and the story but blimey did it get a bit wordy at times, just felt like it was trying to be clever when it could have been more succinct and less rambly! Love the narrator though and would probably recommend the book but it wasn’t my favourite from this author.

New author to me & well worth a listen!

Thoroughly enjoyed this and I’m glad it’s the first in a series, really liked the narrator too but I see he hasn’t done the second which is a shame!

Good!

I bought this ages ago and was then a little put off by the reviews saying that the narrator was naff - I personally didn’t find that to be the case at all and I enjoyed his narration, there were distinct voices for each character and yes he does use a higher pitch to show that it’s a woman talking but I’m not sure what else a man is supposed to do to sound like a woman?! Good story too and I’ll definitely listen to more from this author and narrator.

Kept me hooked

Well .... what can I say! I can’t remember why I got this book and it sat in my downloads for ages as I couldn’t quite bring myself to listen because I knew it was about a little girl going missing. I started with a slight feeling of apprehension but I was hooked by the narrators. It’s a slow burner and it isn’t a complex story but it brilliantly told and there are some twists and turns that you don’t expect. The ending had the hair on my arms standing up on end! This isn’t a seat of your pants book so don’t expect it to be massively fast paced, but it’s easy reading and beautifully narrated and I would recommend it.

Not my sort of book but ....

.... I loved it!!

As Sean Barrett is my favourite narrator I was looking through others that he had done & I came across this, every single review was 5 stars so I thought I’d give it a go & I am so glad I did, what a fantastic book & absolutely stellar narration, it all came to life within moments of the book starting, fabulous characters & utterly believable despite being complete fantasy! And the moral of the story is .... always bet on Sean Barrett!!

Third book of the series & still going strong!

I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception, twisting and turning to the very end and superbly narrated as well.

Very interesting

I purchased this in an attempt to try and educate myself a little on the Iraq War & I found this really useful & interesting. It's well written, really makes you feel like you're 'there' & perfectly narrated, I would certainly recommend.
