I loved the first and the second is even better. Story and Characters well rounded and fast paced and narrator perfect. I simply couldn't stop listening and can't wait to dive into the 3rd and last book.
great book that really kept my attention, lots of little twist and turns which meant a consistant fast pace yet still retained depth of character and scene setting. Narrator brilliant. Have brought book 2 already. Only down side is the unfamiliar names made it a little difficult for me to work out individual characters and places.
reasonable story narrator is dreadful
sadly while not a bad story with some promising characters the narrator is appalling absolutely no subtle nuances no acting skill and a voice that drones on and on...
not as good as Ruth and Harry
these are not as good as the Ruth Galloway series but still like them very much
Not as good as the others
Narrator still perfect for these books but story a bit weak not as good as previous 3 but not weak enough for me not to read the next book.
Stumbled across this book by accident and so glad I did. Great all round modern detective story set in Scotland. Narrator good enough for me to search for other books read by him that i might enjoy. Have already purchased number 2 of the series hoping it manitains this standard.
i really enjoyed this book particularly the narrator who was superb marked it as a 4 star as ending a little drawn out.
not even close to Ann Cleeves normal standard made worse by a very poor narrator.
its an ok read and i listened to the end but wont be getting any more. Neither funny or clever and characters are niether likeable or interesting. only good thing is chapters are short so great for listening last thing at night.
just as good as previous books. simply love them. am gutted to have finished. highly recommend.
