What a wonderful book. From the start I was captivated by Eleanor. The slow changes that she makes in her character are so expertly portrayed. There is also mystery in there too and the author slowly lets the background creep into the story . Beautifully written
Another fabulous book from Horowitz! Keeps you guessing until the end. Rory Kinnear is a brilliant reader- you can't believe that there's not a full cast in there!!
I really enjoyed this- in fact I've never read a book like it! It's a book within a book. The story is excellent and keep you guessing right to the end. 2 mysteries for the price of one !!!
Stick with it! The book has a very slow start. I wasn't sure if I would confine . It didn't grip.
This was a slow burn. I wondered where it was going and it took me weeks to listen to the first part- it just didn't grip me.
The it began to exert its pull and by the middle I was hooked. You enter their world- a group of privileges students in the Hamptons. Then a dark secret emerges and the book becomes a tense thriller !

Great story, fast moving, well told
I really enjoyed this- couldn't stop listening. If you like nesbo - you will like this! On to part 2 now!
without doubt one of the best books I've ever read
This was recommended to me by an American friend. It is amazing - I have been telling everyone about it. Tolzte has only written this one so far. It is funny and makes you laugh out loud. It is an epic tale - something that would usually put me off - but it rambles from the youth of the writer, through to his adult hood and all the characters he meets along the way. The australian delivery of the reader is fantastic, he sounds surprised and amazed, justas the reader will be. I will be listening to this again . I never do that !
Nesbo doesn't disappoint
Another great book from Nesbo and Sean Barrett's voice is like honey. A great story, well read and keeping you guessing
I just love the Maigret books and this was read perfectly - very atmospheric of France in that era. A great detective story.

sex scene on the porch
This book started well but in chapter ten there is the most clumsily written sex scene I have ever read! at one point , I actually said "Yuk" What was this writer thinking? Surely he could see it just wasn't erotic?
