You can't have too much of a good thing!

What superb value, an absolute joy from beginning to end. The much and outstanding loved series makes me laugh out loud.

the readers spoilt the book for me.

What did you like most about Across the Nightingale Floor?

The story & the characters are well written.

What other book might you compare Across the Nightingale Floor to, and why?

Lynn Flewelling trilogies spring to mind. Dale Furutani also writes a good tale about Japan around the same time.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Very much, I have copies of the audio by different readers and this is by far the worst. The music in-between chapters detracts from the flow of the story rather than enhances it.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, after all it is a story.

Quirky alternative & fun.

Lots of books have been written about alternative worlds, but this is great fun.

Our resolute detective will do almost anything to earn a buck, and ends up getting into all sorts of trouble.

I really enjoyed it.

Disappointing

Having also been to India I was disappointed when listening to this book.
It leaves out so much of the joy of this unique country, but maybe I'm biased.
Worth listening to however.

The Accusers (Unabridged)

An excellent roman mystery told in her usual droll fashion by Lindsey Davis. Falco, aided by his intelligent wife and her brothers weaves his way through the pitfalls of Roman law to solve another crime.
