Spoilt by the narrator
This is a good story though a little slow to start. A promising start to the series. I may read the rest of the series rather than have them on audible because the narration is simply appalling. Like listening to a robot with an annoying american drawl

Truly awful narration of a mediocre story
The main thing that spoilt the book was the narration with accents / voices inconsistent.
When the narrator was narrating the part of blackbeard the low volume mumbling could only be heard by increasing the volume substantially which was booming and unecessary for the next character.
The story was over long with scenes particularly fighting scenes just seeming to be repeated.
Disappointed as I was looking forward to this and unfortunately just didn't suit me.

This is the third book as I have listened to the first two in the series also read by Steven Pacey.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The part of the story involving Colonel West towards the end of the book.
