this is another cracker from the author. I listened to the whole thing over 2 days. really good story and enough mystery to keep you hooked
The first few chapters of this book had me hooked, it was an intersting concept with a bit of a twist but it very quickly wandered in to humdrum and a repetitive story. I have to confess i checked to see how long the book had to run and was dismayed to find it was less than halfway through. I don't normally give up on books but this is not one I am going to finish.
not as strong as previous books
I did enjoy this book, it is fast paced and started well. I feel towards the end it almost got detached from believability. the story spiralled away from where it started and I felt some of the characters were shoehorned in to the story only because the author needed several culprits who could be ruled out one at a time. As always the characterisation was good and the book was well narrated it just lacked a decent ending. previous books have left me desperate for the next book, I was glad when this one ended
interesting but a bit long winded.
I enjoyed the book, it gives an insight in to the running of the campaign. it does go a little off topic in the middle where the author gives a history lesson which isn't really required to understand recent events. overall it was interesting but a few hours too long
gave up - narrator had the most childlike voice
the story didn't grab my attention, narration was awful. I rarely give up on a book but had to with this one
not my usual but I enjoyed it
I decided I needed something different from my usual crime thriller and bought this as a daily deal. once I got through the first few chapters I was hooked. a really interesting family dynamic with a well told story and a few twists along the way. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would!
first of the series
this is the first book in the series that I've listen to but it won't be the last.
good story and strong characters an intriguing story of a little predictable in places
almost but not quite....
unlike the other books in the series this book lacks depth in the story and was predictable. it is well read by the narrator however there is something missing. not sure I will read any more in the series by Lagercrantz which is a shame as I loved the first three.
kept my interest
the book was slow to start but a very plausible story. I didn't see r ending coming
interesting concept but...
rather long winded and the most infuriating ending I've ever come across but I suppose that is the point
