Summary

Lindsay Boxer's beautiful baby is born! But after only a week at home with her new daughter, Lindsay is forced to return to work to face two of the biggest cases of her career. A rising star football player for the San Francisco 49ers is the prime suspect in a grisly murder. At the same time, Lindsay is confronted with the strangest story she’s ever heard: An eccentric English professor has been having vivid nightmares about a violent murder and he’s convinced it's real. Lindsay doesn't believe him, but then a shooting is called in - and it fits the professor's description to the last detail. Lindsay doesn’t have much time to stop a terrifying future from unfolding.

But all the crimes in the world seem like nothing when Lindsay is suddenly faced with the possibility of the most devastating loss of her life.

Great storyline but…..,

Yet again that blessed music creeps in and at times drowned out the narrator almost!

Good but not the best

I enjoyed this new James Patterson book but I found Lindsey's adoration of her baby a bit over the top - probably because all the other books had portrayed her as a hard hitting cop whose dedication to her job overrode everything else in her life. She obviously went back to work too soon after giving birth!

However, the storyline was good - I like the way each character's lives and jobs are portrayed within the whole story and the narrator has a good storytelling voice. I think maybe the plot lines are beginning to pall and maybe it is time for JP to invent a new character in a new series. I am not sure that I would buy any more in this series - having read all of them so far.

Same expected high standard

This book maintains the standard reached by the other titles in the Womens Murder Club series. I could have lived with less emphasis on Lindsays post natal problems but it didnt spoil the book for me. I am a great fan of James Patterson in most of his formats so will happily wait for the next on in this series

does james patterson help his female co writer?

i have bought loads of James pattersons books. i hear the change in inflection and pace towards the end as if james has given his addition. I feel this is not the specialist service he offers to women authors. as great as it is to say your book is fine as it is.. where are you james for women co author with you

Annoying

The music and sound effects were so annoying they ruined the whole experience. The story was average not up to usual Patterson standards

Formulaic

Should have known better. Nothing against James Patterson, his books are like magazines, easy to read, don't need to think, good for train journeys etc as nice short chapters.

Liked women's murder club when it started but there have been too many. This was a rag tag miss mash of story lines. The most irritating was Julie, the baby. Her story took up far too much of the book. I just didn't care, I bought the book for a good murder, not the usual boring new mother story. Heartless I may be but I just didn't care and kept fast forwarding. Such short books anyway, ended up being about 6 hours.
