Detailed instruction.

The book is not a difficult read but it is dry as it is instructional. It does serve the purpose for which it was written. A quickstart guide compared to a detailed instruction.

Best Tool

There are so many things in this book- that are easy and valuable items for making decisions and seeing a project timeline. I wont list them out- as that would be giving away the book, but it certainly is a a great investment.

The most valuable and helpful book

The most valuable and helpful part of this book are the case studies they explain; there are four case studies they go through and it definitely helps you get a clearer idea of what the method is since it teaches by example. The book also includes a section on the shortcomings of agile project management which is really important because there’s no method that’s 100% perfect and giving the reader that impression would definitely cause you to overlook problems in your project.

Great intro

The book breaks down a basic discussion of what program management is and what issues face project managers. AS the focus of the book is on agile project management the book introduces this topic and goes over some of the history. I liked the section which covers the basic strategy and specific methodologies which have and can be used within agile project management.

Thanks to authour

The first thing I want to mention, because its the most important factor to me when I'm reading a text simply to gain the knowledge, is that the book is not difficult to read. The language is pretty easy to make sense of basically and I didn't have a lot of problem with running into jargon or other difficult or technical terms that I didn't understand. This makes it a book that pretty much anyone can understand; you don't have to have a background in the subject to understand what the book is trying to teach you.

Agile project management

Agile project management is one of these alternative styles or ideas (there are many) and even if you don't plan to make any huge changes to your business, there's some really useful tips, ideas, and information in this book that can be applied to your management style. Its definitely worth looking into because I believe that, no matter who you are or what business you are in, there are suggestions in the book that can help you improve your businesses productivity, etc.
