Not the Martian
A light and fun listen. A slightly kitsch action packed detective adventure novel. Incomparable to the Martian. I enjoyed the narration and the fast paced story line.
A perfect throw away after you have finished book for a long journey or a listen by the pool on holiday.

Why pick a narrator who can't do accents?
I agree with most of the other reviews regarding the story (it's no 'The Martian') and the portrayal of female characters (lack of depth and realism); but overall the narrative was interesting enough to keep me listening.
What nearly ruins it for me is the performance of any character with a non-American accent, of which there are MANY. I physically cringed whenever Jazz entered the pub in anticipation of the 'English' landlord having some lines. Swedish, Ukranian, Kenyan, Brazilian, you name it, there's a terrible impression of the accent to be heard. The American characters are performed well, with real enthusiasm, so credit where it's due, but I'm quickly jolted out of those brief moments of immersion the instant a non-American pipes up. Why pick a narrator who can't do accents, when there are so many who can?

edge of your seat
wen with the technical jargon, which was clearly very well researched, this story was good to follow the scrapes that jas managed to get herself in are mind boggling. thoroughly enjoyed and recommend!

Even Better Than The Martian
I liked this book even more than The Martian. The characters are so real in Artemis. I love the setting on the moon not too far in the future. The action builds throughout the book and the ending is so tense!
The main character being a criminal is super annoying, but it totally works. She’s crazy in an adventurous way.

EXCELLENT performance and a cracking tale
Rosario Dawson is incredible in this performance.
Got this as I'd enjoyed The Martian. This is a much quicker, slicker caper-style tale and is very entertaining, if not as thought-provoking.
Highly recommended for some lighter sci-fi listening.

wauw, just WAUW! Best audio in a looooong time.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks but this is a true master piece! Its like a movie in your head, but better! I didnt read Andies other books so this is my introduction to the techno-space-puzzle style he writes in, and its pretty cool. I saw the Martian, so i kind of had a feeling this was his style haha.
I love the characters that headline this story, and everything just fits around it.
Never was i bored or anything like that, and all the problems and solutions are so realistic!
Oh and did i say that this book is full of action? It starts small and builds up to this cressendo of mayhem and distruction, just like in big budget feature films.
One last thing; the actress who read this book is freaking AWESOME. The hardcore i-dont-give-a-flying-muck voice and attitude is perfect for this story, really well done.
Normally i dont give these kind of reviews but this was just very, very good.

Out of this world
Really great story, loved the characterisation and the narration which built into a believable universe. I also liked that 3rd world characters took centre stage. Makes a nice change. Recommended.

Loved this audio book!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. As with "The Martian", Andy Weir tucks huge amounts of science into a really good plot line. Really worth a listen.
