Summary

This brilliant new sci-fi series charges into action at a headlong pace, deadly serious and wickedly satirical. It features great performances from Claudia Christian (Babylon 5's Susan Ivanova) as Detective Annie Manx, an honest cop in a system under siege, and Patricia Tallman (B5's Lyta Alexander) as the vicious Lieutenant Richmond. Annie and her boss are marked for death, as they stand between Richmond and a police takeover of the entire sector. But somehow - astoundingly - when Annie gets killed, she doesn't die. Just how many lives does this cat have? Mystery, action, suspense, sex, and razor-sharp humor, all wrapped up in a splendid digital production!

Dissapointing Claudia & Patricia!!

Loved watching Claudia as Susan Ivanova and Patricia in the role of Lyta Alexander in B5.

Now I cringe listening to two of my favourite female actors taking part in this terrible performance. Are they both so desperate that they need to be associated with such rubbish. (Sorry ladies!) These Anne Manx radio stories really are rubbish!

Stupid

I keep trying to listen to this story and I find myself turing it off as the stupidity mounts. It's supposed to be funny, but the humor doesn't fit the story. Furthermore, the humor doesn't fit the age range of the intended reader... It's more like humor style from the "Honeymooners" or "I Love Lucy" TV show couched in what tries to be an adult sci-fi novel... I only found myself annoyed enough to turn it off.

One of the best in a long time

Make no mistake about it, this is a first-rate audio drama. There have been many attempts at science fiction comedy, some good and some not so good. This is one of the best around, on par with such greats as "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." The script is fast-moving and amazingly funny, and if you blink at the wrong time, you'll miss some real gems. This is a script worth paying close attention to!

The characters are wonderful. In their own ways, they are all nicely eccentric, and their peculiarities play off each other to create amazingly funny situations.

A good story is brought to life by absolutely brilliant performances. It's hard to find words to describe the quality of the acting, especially by stars Claudia Christian and Patricia Tallman. The entire cast is clearly enjoying themselves in this performance, and does it ever come through!

All in all, there's a real energy in this program that carries the listener along. A fun story, interesting characters, and actors who clearly enjoy their work make this worth listening to.
