Summary
Get to know a national icon in Eddie Izzard's hilarious and dazzling autobiography.
Star of stage and screen. Tireless supporter of charity. Marathon runner. Political campaigner.
Fashion icon. Human.
There is no one quite like Eddie Izzard. This is the story of how she broke through.
Her relentless optimism has led her to always do things her own way, even if it didn't work the first time, and her incredible self-belief has pushed her to keep on trying, even if it didn't work the second or third time either.
Whether she was putting on teddy bear shows on boarding school beds or swordfighting on the streets of London, Eddie never stopped trying to achieve her dreams of becoming a performer.
Brimming with her distinctively surreal humour and disarming candour, Believe Me tells the story of a person who never took no for an answer.

End of long windy footnote.
Eddie is the 1st author who goes completly of page when reading, a really inspiring person, kind hearted and sincere. A joy to listen to as always. I wish there were more people like Eddie. I enjoyed his theory about the universe.

Wonderful!
This audiobook is fabulous! Read by Eddie himself in his unique style with plenty of extra bit of material and additions on the fly by him, it makes the audiobook feel like the 'special extended version' of the book itself.
An incredibly inspiring person who has had a fascinating life and has some wonderful insights to share.

A real insight into drive and determination
I found this a fascinating listen. To really get to understand someone's reasons and impetus to push themselves is a privilege. The extra rambling footnotes were a joy.

Eddie being Eddie
Loved it. I knew I would. Spent most of the time following Eddie on his journey. So this was a joy to hear the inner thoughts.

Believe Me by Eddie Izzard
I loved this book, especially the footnotes Eddie added whilst narrating.
I have always liked Eddie‘s work, hearing his excellent biography in his own words gave me a new respect for the man.
Thank you Eddie,
best wishes ,
Terry.

loved every minute
definitely not boring, and I loved the "long windy" footnotes. I feel inspired to do more and push myself further.

Izzard at his best
Amazing that Eddie is reading this himself. as he states you get much more than is in the book as he adds stuff in as he goes. Got lots of strange looks as I was walking around town listening at point and started laughing! fun and very enjoyable. always been a fan x

Dear Edward Izzard
Lovely, lovely, clever, funny, gentle, strong, beautiful, talented, impressive Eddie Izzard. Such a listenable account of her life to date. ("All Rights Reversed" killed me ! 😁👊 I was tearful at the final "thankyou", but this ending had me smiling with joy again. What a treasure. )
