Summary
Hannah Hart - comedian, author, YouTube star and creator of My Drunk Kitchen - opens up with a revealing memoir about her life, past loves, family and relationships. Refreshingly honest and narrated by Hannah herself, it's an equal parts touching, hilarious and thought-provoking glimpse into an extraordinary life.
By combing through the journals that Hannah has kept for much of her life, this collection of narrative essays delivers a fuller picture of her life, her experiences, and the things she's figured out about family, faith, love, sexuality, self-worth, friendship and fame.
Revealing what makes Hannah tick, this sometimes cringeworthy, poignant collection of stories is sure to deliver plenty of Hannah's wit and wisdom and hopefully encourage you to try your hand at her patented brand of reckless optimism.
Personal note:
Hello, my darlings! I am incredibly pleased to present Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded!
As a big fan of memoirs, I wanted to try my hand at writing about the events of my life that deserve a little more consideration than can be accomplished in 140 characters or a six-minute vlog. Now on the cusp of turning 30, I'm ready to expose some parts of my life that I haven't shared before. Before, it was all about privacy, process and time. And now the time has come! I'm ready to put myself out there for you. I'm a little nervous about all these vulnerable words going into the world, these tales about my love life, the wrestling I've done with faith, how I feel about sex and my family and myself. I've had a lot of trials, a lot of errors, but also a lot of passion. Here's the thing: I've always found comfort in the stories shared by others, so I hope my stories, now that I feel ready to tell them, will bring you some comfort, too.
And when you listen to this book, please remember: buffering is just the time it takes to process.
Enjoy!
Love,Hannah

Heartbreaking, hopeful, and honest
Even if you're not familiar with Hannah Harts online presence, I still highly recommend this book.
She is an excellent storyteller -- both her writing and her narration. The book provides good insight into what it's like to grow up with a parent who has a mental illness and the impact it can have on a child and the adult they become.
I hadn't expected that aspect of her story, I'd thought it would focus more on her career or coming out as a lesbian but while those did play a part in the book, it was ultimately more about family and really drives home the message that you can never really know what someone else is going through.

Having subscribed to Hannah Hart on Youtube for a few years now, it was a book that seemed a familiar face whilst searching for something to pass the time at work. I enjoying every minute it was very personal, very well read and clear and very interesting. What I took away from this book was gratitude. It was insightful to read where My Drunk Kitchen started and the journey along with it. ")

Started off a bit slow, but worth it.
I’m used to Hannah being jokey drunk self on my drunk kitchen. I actually expected her to be a lot more cynical and sarcastic here. Her story, is pretty surprising, and that, paired with her candour about trying to do better in life as far as mental health is concerned, made me keep listening.
I’m glad I did, because it was actually really healing. As a queer person I obviously found her coming out story relatable, and when she spoke about her relationships that was cool too, I appreciated the perspective. But the most healing thing was hearing her talk about her childhood pain, and growing through all the different toxic events and habits in her life.
It was definitely a bit cheesier than I’d like in parts, but I kinda just respect that as part of her personality, and she still told her story really well. As a biography it honestly shows emotional maturity and massive growth as a person. Covers important stuff around mental health and family.

Incredible book
This is a wonderfully moving and important book. Read it if you've had the fortune of falling in love with Hannah Hart already from her videos, and read it if you've never heard of her because you'll love her before you reach the end. Not only does this book tell a beautiful tale of personal passions, struggles, and development; it brings into sharp focus how our mental health systems are failing. Hannah is an insightful person and a skilled storyteller. Read it and, like me, you'll wish to be her friend, wish to support her, and wish for change.

wow what a story!
I saw my drunk kitchen and became a fan very quickly. I would watch her videos and think I wonder what her background is? Not in a million years would I have pegged that pretty blue eyed girl as having come from such a hard life. Thanks Hannah you took me on A touching journey this book is well worth the read. I suspect it will give hope to many different people.
