Summary

Hannah Evans has three small boys. In her world, farting is so much more interesting than phonics, dam-building trumps damsels in distress any day and, astonishingly, she now instinctively knows the difference between a Frontloader and a JCB. It's a world of mud - and just occasionally blood - sweat and tears. It is also a world of indescribable joy. MOB Rule is the funny, honest and eye-opening account of Hannah's experiences as a Mother of Boys. Supplemented by recipes, quizzes, mnemonics and mysteries, it is the indispensible guide for anyone who finds themselves adrift on a sea of testosterone, wondering when the lifeboat is going to show up. You may be outnumbered, your face may be frazzled and your toe-nails black and bare, but know that, far from being alone, you're part of a very special club. Welcome to...the MOB!

Perhaps I'm missing something - this is hard work

What disappointed you about MOB Rule?

I have made it to chapter 4 but this was hard going! As the mother of 4, I appreciate some of the things they were trying to get across but really, it's either irrelevant ( if you don't have kids) or preaching - in a laboured, slow and painful style of writing and reading, to the converted. It just comes across as semi-organised moaning!

What will your next listen be?

The Brentford Triangle - something different, quick paced and enthusiastic.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lesley Parkin’s performances?

I would be very reluctant to pick another book read by this person

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really!

Any additional comments?

I hate not completing books but this was driving me into a depression!
