Summary

When physics grad student Fielding Monroe and skirt-chaser and football player Mick Colman become college housemates, they're both in for a whole new education. Mick looks out for the absent-minded genius, and he helps Fielding clean up his appearance and discover all the silly pleasures his strict upbringing as a child prodigy denied him. They become best friends.

It's all well and good until they run into a cheerleader who calls Mick the "best kisser on campus". Fielding has never been kissed, and he decides Mick and only Mick can teach him how it's done. After all, the physics department's Christmas party is coming up with its dreaded mistletoe. Fielding wants to impress his peers and look cool for once in his life. The thing about Fielding is, once he locks onto an idea, it's almost impossible to get him to change his mind. And he just doesn't understand why his straight best friend would have a problem providing a little demonstration.

Mick knows kissing is a dangerous game. If he gives in, it would take a miracle for the thing not to turn into a disaster. Then again, if the kissing lessons get out of hand, they can always blame it on the mistletoe.

My Aural Fixation

Would you consider the audio edition of Blame It on the Mistletoe to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but having listened to the audio version about a bajillion times I'd say that the narration lifts a sweet, well written story to the level of perfection.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love them both! Fielding's a fiesty geek and Mick's a sweethearted jock, they're both interesting, rounded characters that I'd be happy to know. Okay, if I had to pick one to go out with - if I was the other one, because I couldn't possibly tear them away from each other - it would be Mick. I love how much he cares for Fielding even when he can't quite bring himself to admit that he's head-over-heels, bonkers in love. And he makes up for his mistakes admirably.

Have you listened to any of Jason Frazier’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any others yet. With this quality of narration I want the story to measure up. I can't wait to hear more from Jason Frazier, as he's an incredibly talented narrator. He has an endless range of voices and the sexy bits are off the scale on the hot-o-meter. I am waiting for Unwrapping Hank with hitched breath.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved it from start to finish, but I particularly enjoyed the moment that Mick finally gave in and kissed Fielding and then later on when they "don't stop". Guh. The earth moved, never mind me.

Any additional comments?

Anyone dithering over whether to buy the ebook or audiobook should absolutely buy the audiobook. I also recommend lying in a darkened room for the duration. It is not advisable to drive or operate heavy machinery whilst listening to this audiobook. Mick's hot chocolate is lush, I cannot comment on Santa's Death by Peppermint as they don't seem to know what it is in my local cafe :(

All round a good buy. Fun,sweet and alluring

Where does Blame It on the Mistletoe rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would put Blame It on the mistletoe at the top of my audio books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite is Mick because the story was told through him. The way that Mick slowly bit by bit understood that he had fallen in love with fielding.

What about Jason Frazier’s performance did you like?

Jason Frazier I would say is a man of many voices and would like to hear him lots more. In fact I looked for more stories with him in just because I enjoyed listening to him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

once I started to listening to this book I was unable to stop till I reached the end and then I was sad it was finished.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to any one that loves a good fun romance.

Fielding, you're a star!!

What did you like most about Blame It on the Mistletoe?

Fielding, I felt for him. His cold hearted mother and absent father, the fact that he'd gotten to his age and never even been kissed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

As above.

What does Jason Frazier bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He brought the characters of Fielding and Mick to life as all good narrators should. He made Mick, the straight more experienced one, sound hot and confident, and Fielding was quite dorky until surprisingly HE was more adult than Mick and quite open about his feelings. Mick deserved a few good slaps upside the head. The 'kissing' experimentation in particular was hot as all get out, and you would have thought that Jason was participating himself!! ;)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it's only an Xmas novella so entirely possible to read in one sitting.

Sweet story

Enjoyed this book, it's sweet with little angst. Loved the characters and although short it felt like a whole story with excellent character development. Jason Frazier did an excellent job of narrating, particularly liked Fielding's and Samantha's voices.
