Summary

For 60 minutes this summer, the British public stopped what they were doing, switched on their radios and their TVs, refreshed their Twitter feeds, and followed Bradley Wiggins' attempt to break one of sport's most gruelling records: The Hour.

The premise is simple enough: how far can you cycle in one hour? But it is thought to be one of the toughest events an athlete can endure, both physically and psychologically. Eddy Merckx, cycling's über-champ, called it the hardest thing he ever did. Wiggins, like many before him, discovered the unique pain of pushing yourself as hard as you can for 60 minutes.

In this revealing book, Bradley Wiggins takes you behind the scenes of his record attempt. From planning to preparation to training to execution, Bradley shares his thoughts on his sacrifices, his heroes, and the people who have supported him along the way as well as what's to come as he heads towards the twilight of his stellar career.

My Hour is a fitting celebration of one of Britain's best-loved sportsmen in his finest hour.

Love Bradley, love Tom Watt

Tom is the same narrator as Brad's first book, and he's excellent. It unfolds in very similar fashion to the first book too, with an ongoing 'countdown' splices with stories. If you like cycling, you'll get a lot out of this.

Brilliant.

Shame it's short, wanted it to carry on more. Narrator is very good, feels like listening to Brad himself.

Good, but you would need to be a cycling fan.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

It's very much a cycling book, going over past hour record holders etc.

Would you ever listen to anything by Bradley Wiggins again?

Yes, his first book was much better as that story was more interesting and gave more insights into his personality.

Have you listened to any of Tom Watt’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Bradley's other book narrated by Tom Watt is much better, but that's nothing to do with the narrator, it's just a better story. Listening to Tom Watt does give the impression that you might be listening to Bradley himself

Was Bradley Wiggins: My Hour worth the listening time?

Yes, but only if your a cycling fan, not sure if you're just a Wiggins fan or British Cycling fan that you will thoroughly enjoy it

For keen beans only

Interesting, but only for those that are interested in cycling. Very short. Chris Boardman's foreword is probably the best bit
