Editor reviews
The Intelligent Investor has been the go-to book for investors since it was written in 1949 and author Benjamin Graham is the father of the concept known as 'value investing'. When he published the classic playbook, it changed the way people thought about stocks, helping countless investors avoid risks and build long-term strategies.
This new edition is perfect for the investor looking for insights on how to apply time-tested methods to the modern market. To illuminate how the original text still relates to today’s headlines, financial journalist Jason Zweig provides commentary alongside Graham’s original words. Elevating this listen even further is Luke Daniels, a prolific narrator who makes each piece of advice engaging and easy to digest.
Summary
The Classic Text Annotated to Update Graham's Timeless Wisdom for Today's Market Conditions
The greatest investment advisor of the 20th century, Benjamin Graham taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham's philosophy of "value investing" - which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies - has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market bible ever since its original publication in 1949.
Over the years, market developments have proven the wisdom of Graham's strategies. While preserving the integrity of Graham's original text, this revised edition includes updated commentary by noted financial journalist Jason Zweig, whose perspective incorporates the realities of today's market, draws parallels between Graham's examples and today's financial headlines, and gives listeners a more thorough understanding of how to apply Graham's principles.
Vital and indispensable, this HarperBusiness Essentials edition of The Intelligent Investor is the most important book you will ever listen on how to reach your financial goals.

A great book ruined by poor performance
If delivered with passion, anything can be interesting. Unfortunately the monotone delivery of this made it hard to listen to and even harder to pay attention to. Ben Graham’s book is a must-read for anyone with a stock market interest. But I would recommend keeping away from this audio version, it was a massive disappointment.

Very good book
Good book albeit a bit slow and long.
Explains all the essential ideas on how to act more intelligently as an investor. The ideas are mostly well known so this book is more for the beginner and less experienced.

Not for the new investor
It’s brilliant, but long. Only seasoned audiabler’s should listen to this.
It will lose you many times if you are not already a seasoned investor. There are principles to learn from if you are a beginner, but understand, they are somewhere in the 17 hours of audio, so you could wait some time before you hear words of wisdom that you will understand and be able to genuinely appreciate

Great Content - Narration Awful
This book is extremely insightful and a must read for anyone looking to invest. Sadly the narrator made listening as exciting as watching paint dry. If you can read a hard copy.

Good book with great investing principle to learn
generally a good book but all real world examples given pre 2003 therefore not very relevant to today's world of 2020. However, that being said, some really good advice given in relation to the physche an investor should have and what are the general pitfalls to look out for.
