Inspired
This is absolutely *brilliant*.
I was hooked from the first paragraph... a great sense of humour woven throughout; and the vocabulary used is pitched at precisely the right level so that while you're constantly being extended, there's enough framework to bootstrap from to pick up the new stuff.

Easy to follow
Café in Berlin is completely ‘auf Deutsch’ but spoken slowly which allows the listener to easily grasp what is being said. I’ve not had any lessons since secondary school (around 8yrs ago) but I was able to understand the majority of what was being said, at least enough to follow the story. Great book, would recommend if you’re trying to self-learn German!!!

The best learning aid I've ever come across. Fun, engaging, good flow and rhythm. Would recommend for anyone willing to invest the time and effort to embark on a language learning adventure.

Good for beginners learning German
I've now listened to four of these short stories and find they're a very good way to add variety to the language course I'm following. They may be read a bit slowly for some learners but you can speed up the dialogue if you want to with the Audible app. I find this series very helpful and will be on the lookout for more.

really great for beginners!
I wish there was also another version that's faster and more natural so that I can listen to exact same story, now that I know what's coming, but at a bit more natural pace.

Excellent tool for beginners of German language. The histories are adequate for adults. Strongly recommend, particularly with the books to check spelling and vocabulary

Great for learners.
A nice break from standard textbooks. Great with the audio too. I've used it loads and find myself saying phrases from it when doing speaking exercises in class so it does work as study aid.
