Summary

Nervous flyer Emma is sitting on a turbulent plane. She really thinks that this could be her last moment. So she starts telling the man sitting next to her all her innermost secrets: How she scans the backs of intellectual books and pretends she's read them. How she's not sure if she has a G-Spot. How she feels like a fraud at work. How she once threw a troublesome client file in the bin. If ever there was a bare soul, it's hers. She survives the flight, of course, and the next morning the famous boss of the whole mega corporation she works for is coming for a look at the UK branch. As he walks around, Emma looks up and realises it's the man from the plane.

A train wreck or a moral map?

The main character [Emma] is a train wreck sliding along tracks of her own making. You can't help but like her, however I found her incredibly annoying by the end as her stupidity and lack of common sense were the main cause for the peak in the drama. Of course, this is the whole point - I wanted to hear how it ended. This is not to say that this isn't a great listen. I stayed hooked to every minute and the performance by Gracie Thomas is fantastic, capturing each individual character.
Considering this is not a genre I would normally read/ listen to, it was very enjoyable.

Similar to Bridget Jones

The story is very good and I looked forward to reading the book; although it soon became clear that the author has a very similar writing style as the Bridget Jones author.

If you like Bridget Jones then, you will like this book. Unfortunately, I don’t.

Lovely easy listening story

This was a daily deal purchase and money well spent! Very well narrated and easy to listen to story. Had me chuckling a few times to myself and found myself not wanting to get out of the car and stop listening! Some of it is a bit cheesy but hey it is a story!

Enjoyable

A light, fun, easy read. Main character Emma was hilarious and very relatable. My first Sophie Kinsella experience. I liked it!

Enjoyable but so predictable

This story is the average romcom. It’s enjoyable but not really worth paying more than it cos in the £1.99 sale

It was nice

I normally read criminal and thriller books so this was a big change for me. I enjoyed it, it was pleasant.

Brilliant fun

Having recently listened to some ‘heavier’ books, I decided to go for something light-hearted and this book was the perfect choice. I loved Emma (the main character) and thought the narrator was great to listen to. It made me laugh and was pure escapism. A tonic!
