Critic reviews

"You don't analyse such sunlit perfection, you just bask in its warmth and splendour." (Stephen Fry)
"Jeeves and Bertie are as immortal as Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, or Falstaff and Prince Hal, and, quite often, a good deal funnier." (John Mortimer, Daily Telegraph)

You can’t not love a classic

Grand little stories, snapshot of another era. Charmingly amusing and beautifully read.
My bedtime listening for a week.

The wonderful world of Wodehouse

Jonathan Cecil has made the world of Wodehouse his own. No reads the stories better.

Everyone needs some Wodehouse in their life

If you already know Wodehouse I don't need to tell you anything and if you don't this is the best place to start Jonathan Cecil is the best narrator for the Jeeves stories and these are all nice bite sized adventures that give you a real flavour of the world of P.G Wodehouse and they're great for the buss or when your doing the washing or what ever.

Very good (sir).

Tremendous fun. The not very bright Bertie Wooster is very likable in his upper class foppish antics. And Jeeves is, well Jeeves. Not like any other literary character. An absolutely delightful audiobook.

Jonathan Cecil reads Bertie as the upper class twit that he is, but still in a way that you can't help but love him. And Cecil's narration as Jeeves is nothing short of fantastic. Dry, correct and very true to my vision of the perfect Gentleman's Gentleman.

Funny and entertainingly narrated

An entertaining listen, made more enjoyable by the narrator's tone, who brings out the characters' many and varied personalities.

Jonathan Cecil narrates a perfect Bertie Wooster

Age 58, England I'm a late-comer to Jeeves & Wooster and bought these to pep up the car journey to and from work.
There are others who speak these books but Jonathan Cecil is absolutely spot on, and to this extent the spoken book is better than TV adaptations and also reading the real book.
Example.
Carry on Jeeves - Chapter 8 - Fixing it for Freddy. There's a scene where Jeeves has visited the Cinema giving him an idea to resolve a situation. Bertie is 'a trifle frosty' with him. The dialogue and emphasis is wonderfully done by Wodehouse & by Cecil narrating as he has to do both the young master and Jeeves.
10/10
Beautifully written gentle humour taking one back to a nicer place.
