Summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author J. D. Robb presents the fifth thrilling novel in her futuristic In Death series—where even in an age of cutting-edge technology, old beliefs die hard.

Conducting a top secret investigation into the death of a fellow police officer has Lieutenant Eve Dallas treading on dangerous ground. She must put professional ethics before personal loyalties. But when a dead body is placed outside her home, Eve takes the warning personally. With her husband, Roarke, watching her every move, Eve is drawn into the most dangerous case of her career. Every step she takes makes her question her own beliefs of right and wrong—and brings her closer to a confrontation with humanity's most seductive form of evil...

Brilliant brilliant series of books

What did you like most about Ceremony in Death: In Death, Book 5?

It was so suspenseful and I actually figured out who the bad guys were but the way it was played was exciting.

What other book might you compare Ceremony in Death: In Death, Book 5 to, and why?

No other books come close to these. Never have I enjoyed a series of books and charactes as much as I am enjoying these. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Which character – as performed by Susan Ericksen – was your favourite?

Eve and Roarke are always my favourites. They are both exceptionally strong characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes when Eve tricked Roarke into thinking he had to sing with Mavis and then she said she loved him. It was so sweet.

Any additional comments?

These books are costing me a fortune but I have to have them. Such amazing writing of characters and the narrator is just brilliant. I have just downloaded book 5 and I am looking forward to my commute to work in the morning now.

Great story - good performance

I love this book and I'm being a bit picky (given that Susan Ericksen reads a lot of Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb) but Roarke's accent is not great. Likewise, the pronunciation of words like Foyer drive me mad. I don't know if it's an American v European thing but otherwise, it's a good reading.
