Totally ruined by the American accent

Would you try another book written by Charles Dickens or narrated by Sam Goodyear?

I would research the nationality of the narrator before I purchased any work by Dickens.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Charles Dickens 200th Anniversary Christmas Collection?

Hearing the narrator struggling with the complexity and the nuances of Dickens language.

What didn’t you like about Sam Goodyear’s performance?

His accent.

Could you see Charles Dickens 200th Anniversary Christmas Collection being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

Never, except by Disnay

Performance lacking

I love everything by Charles Dickens but this rendition really lacked any magic to bring it to life. I really think these stoies; to stay true to their world, need an English accent to bring them to life - but that is just a personal preference possibly.

Very boringly read

No real expression given by the reader, his voice is monotonous and boring. This does not make compelling listening.
