Perfect narration but a frustrating hero

Giving up for you is Book 2 in The Giving Trilogy by LM Carr and narrated by Tracy Marks and Thomas Donohoe. In Book 1, I had a hard time with Mia because she was downright annoying and then when I listened to the audio, I learned to appreciate her in a whole new way. Book 2 amplified that 100%. Mia became the strong character that I knew she could be, and I can’t wait to see how to continues to grow in Book 3. Now, Adam frustrated me to no end. While I understood his indifference more once the secrets began to be unveiled, he still irked me at every corner. All that being said, the narration by Tracy Marks and Thomas Donohoe was delicious. I’m partial to Mia and the kids because for me, she truly brought those three characters to life in such a way, that I legitimately cried when Mia was separated from them. It wasn’t so much the story that made me tear up, but the emotion that she portrayed, even down to the raspy change in her voice as her voice would break. It was simply perfect. Thomas Donohoe was a new narrator for me, but I loved his addition when the POV flipped. I’m looking forward to hearing more from him in Book 3.

If you like your romance with a heavy dose of suspense, and intricate (yet frustrating) twists and turns, then you will enjoy this one, but definitely make sure to read book 1 first.
