Moving and Entertaining

Loved it. A touching insight into the life of an RAF pilot with anecdotes that are beautifully written. Honest, critical, funny and tragic.
Great narrator!

Fascinating

A wonderful look into Dahl's background was sad when it finished I just want to know more about his marvellous life. When did he start writing and why.

A really good story, almost unbelievable but obviously true. The narrator is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Tears of happiness

This book is so adventurous, sad and happy at the same time. I was so blown away by the stories. My favourite part was when he got home. The adventures made me feel that I wished to be with him. This is my favourite book EVER!!

Masterful writing.

THIS is how to write an autobiography! Such clarity, recall and experiences make for a vivid picture of a life lived in wartime ......just a snippet of a life which would later prove to be equally exceptional. Dan Stevens narration, as always, is just perfect.
