Summary

A selection of the most chilling tales ever written.

Rats and mice, and beetles and creaky doors, and loose slates, and broken panes, and stiff drawer handles, that stay out when you pull them and then fall down in the middle of the night...Rats is bogeys, I tell you, and bogeys is rats, and don't you get to think anything else!

Ghosts, vampires, werewolves and even rats, all make an appearance in this collection of frighteningly good classic stories from Bram Stoker, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling and more! Sure to delight on any dark night and narrated with chilling tones by Richard Pasco, classically trained actor and former leading member of the Old Vic Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.

Cracking short stories well read

If you could sum up Classic Ghost Stories 1 in three words, what would they be?

Well read and concise range of chilling classic ghost stories. Not too gory just creepy and spine chilling.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Classic Ghost Stories 1?

I loved the Saki tale which was great antidote to the creepy tales.

What does Richard Pasco bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A great narrator can make or break a reading. Mr Pasco is a A1 narrator and will look out for other readings by him.

I was expecting more chill, done of the stories were really close, liked the about judge house. I still have to go thru some stories again. I was expecting rather type of horror, something like a cottage in middle of wood and a lake surrounded in autumn mist. I am sure you will find some of stories interesting in this collection.

Enjoyable

Bought for my husband who enjoys short ghost stories. He thoroughly enjoyed these and he looked forward to listening to them before bed every evening. Also kept him quiet while I was doing my jigsaws .....so can't complain.

Narration was great too!
