Summary

John Buchan's hero Edward Leithen chances upon a worldwide plan for domination. With his own life (and the lives of his friends) depending on the outcome of his struggle, he engages in combat with the anarchic brain behind The Power-House.

The author, despite being very busy in public service, wrote over 50 books during his life, but his particular talent was for writing fast-moving adventure stories. The Power-House, a good example of this genre, was first published in 1916.

Audio quality very poor

This may be a good book but the quaility of the audio is too bad to put up with.

I am going to ask for my money back.

Weird book

I do enjoy old adventure stories and the way they are written. I found this one a bit odd though.

Having said that I was quite distracted whilst listening to it and actually just found the voice of Peter Joyce the more enjoyable thing to listen to than the story.

I'll probably give it another go at a later date when I'm not distracted.
