Coaching

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would, because I know people in the lower tiers of management who are also potentially looking into it who it would be useful to, and a relevant item of reference material. I am also working on a Leadership and Management course and found it to be a good memory refresher of the material that I learnt on the course.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Coaching: Coaching Strategies?

Overall there was no particularly distinctive moment, but I did find the audio-book to be overall an engaging bit of literature to listen to.

Which character – as performed by Joshua Mackey – was your favourite?

N/A; there are no characters.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

'Progress and Promotion Potential'

Become a Better Coach Easily!

I've coached a high school team for a few years now and I was looking for a new way to up my game when I came across this book. I was sceptical at first but then the tips were really useful! McCloud is obviously knowledgeable on the topic and provides insightful information and advice.
I particularly enjoyed the section on contingency planning as that is something I've often overlooked. This book has really helped me step up my game and I'd recommend it to any coach!

Dreadful

Nothing credible about coaching strategies. More to do with athlete pre-match preparation and that was dated and inaccurate.

Make your team unstoppable

Any additional comments?

A good sport coach is leading an athlete to develop him/herself to their maximum potential. It can be seen in this book that the strategies explained can be applied to someone's life in general. Similarly, the ways and methods someone needs to follow in order to become a successful coach are shown. I would surely recommend the book to anyone who aims at becoming a leader and a motivator. This book teaches you the right values to help you. Also, advice on your diet and a healthy lifestyle is offered. Finally, you can learn which proteins, supplements and multivitamins to take along with the right exercises and stretching techniques which you should follow.

Understand how to be an effective coach

This is a good guide on how to be respected as a coach and to be a good leader. It helped me to see that to motivate others in achieving their goals I have to be highly motivated and self-disciplined myself. It has some really useful tips on nutrition, exercises, breathing techniques and stretches for coaching people in the sports field. There is a really good section on overcoming negative thinking through positive affirmations which can help in any field. This guide also talks about the importance of good communication and how to understand your team and the way they work so that you can train and motivate them effectively.
