Summary

Crime reporter Rosie Gilmour returns from hiding in Bosnia to a story of a brutal execution. University lecturer Tom Mahoney was shot at point-blank range; the killing has all the signs of a hit. But who would want to kill a retired lecturer?

Rosie throws herself into the investigation, looking for a witness that has gone missing. A witness that might hold the key to the story. But she has her own reasons to stay hidden.

As Rosie digs deeper, she finds the story has connections to the Ministry of Defence and MI6, and Mahoney's past is darker than anyone could imagine. Rosie's running out of time to find out the truth before Mahoney's killers silence her for good.

the story continues...

Yet again Anna Smith writes brilliantly and Rosie Gilmore strives for justice - love the performance by Sharon Baron and consistency of the characters, the voice just is 'Rosie'... now on to the next adventure! x

Loving the whole series great listen

Another brill listen. Loving the different stance on this with Rosie being a reporter and not the standard Police Detective. Great story with some tense moments - personally I enjoy the audio more than the book as you can really get into the characters and play cure the scene.

Loved this book as much as the others and looking forward to the next instalment - what will Rosie do next and what will happen to her love life?!

New to this author

I enjoyed the storyline and, although there were rather too many coincidences it did keep the twists and turns coming and all loose ends were tied up. I found the reader annoying at first as she seems to emphasise the wrong words in almost every sentence. I learned to ignore it but I was surprised that it hadn't been corrected. I will try another Rosie Gilmor story as I liked the pace of this one.

Reporter, sleuth and Rosie

Rosie, super reporter with a nose for a story gets herself yet again deeper and deeper into a mega story. Like an iceberg it is so difficult at the beginning of a story to judge the true size of the iceberg. Rosie keeps getting into near fatal situations, but chance, and quick thinking on her part, allows her to live another day. All exciting stuff to the very end. Excellent narrator.

Good read

This book is well written with compassion and action. I like the relationships between the characters and real personalities evoked.
Will be reading, or should I say listening to more of the Rosie Gilmour series.

An excellent series

I am really getting quite fond of the characters in this series. The intrigue and the stories are brilliant.
I like the fact that Rosie's colleagues are fond of her and there isn't the sniping that is so common in today's novels. It is also interesting to read the story from a reporter's viewpoint rather than that of the police.

Great story but....

Seriously!! How many times is the word SILENCE used in this story!! To the point where I was groaning whenever it was said.... was it just a way to increase the word count?! other than that I like the story... just stop with the useless SILENCE pauses! or find an alternative!
