Summary

Most families have skeletons in their closets
Moving back into her parents' house with her teenage daughter had not been Georgia Thackery's Plan A. But when she got a job at the local college, it seemed the sensible thing to do. So she settled in and began reconnecting with old friends.
Including Sid. Sid is the Thackery family's skeleton. He's lived in the house as long as Georgia can remember, although no one, including Sid, knows exactly where he came from and how he came to be a skeleton.
Sid walks, he talks, he makes bad jokes, he tries to keep Georgia's dog from considering him a snack. And he manages to persuade Georgia to let him leave the house. But when she takes him to an anime convention disguised as a skeleton, of course he sees a woman who triggers memories of his past.
Now he is determined to find out how he died with Georgia's help. But their investigation may uncover a killer who's still alive and well and bad to the bone.

Well read and well written!

A great escapist novel, for when you don't want to read anything Kevvy that you equally don't want to read anything too stupid. An original murder mystery episode, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Getting to the bare bones of a crime!

I found it a little difficult to get into the book at first, I didn't find it had much substance, but as I use it to walk to I stuck with it up to the 2 hour point and then it started to flesh out. Back stories started t come out and the story became more interesting. Some of it is predictable, however, I didn't guess the criminal which was a pleasant surprise.

The narrator was good and her conversations between characters was discernible. Overall really enjoyed, great fun, and don't take it to heart.

Stimulating mystery with a wise-cracking skeleton

Who was your favorite character and why?

Georgia Thackery. She's independent, witty, and strong. She loves her daughter and her best friend, Sid, and would do anything to help them.

Any additional comments?

Very good depiction of academia and all its politics. Very good banter between Sid and Georgia.
