Summary

In this second installment in the acclaimed Back series, Artemus Black, Hollywood PI to the stars, dives into the rap music scene to stop a killer - with often disastrous and humorous results. Fans of hard-boiled detective fiction from Elmore Leonard, Michael Connelly and Lawrence Block will enjoy Black's trials and tribulations, all delivered with a tongue-in-cheek cynicism that's uniquely Russell Blake.

My 2nd "Black"... now on to #3

The snappy repartee continues like a fire hose. The plots are secondary to Black's verbal sparring with everyone in his world. .... Artemus Black IS "Mike Hammer of The New Millenium".

Black is Back

Noir at its absolutely best. Great murder mystery with quippy characters that do what we always wanted to do. Smart, fast and endearing.
