What did you like most about Cat in the Flock?
I thought this was an unusual spin on the private investigator genre. The idea of dream slipping brought a whole new dimension to the characters and situations.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the wonderfully eccentric Granny Grace. And I liked the way the characters were rounded human beings.
Have you listened to any of Angel Clark’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I haven't heard any of her other performances, but I liked her narration.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. I cried!!!
Any additional comments?
I thought this was a great audiobook. I notice it's the first in a series. I'll certainly get the next one when it comes out.
Would you listen to Cat in the Flock again? Why?
Yes, definitely, and it wont be too long before I do read it again!!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cat. She has an ability to jump into the dreams of others. This could be completely disturbing or completely selfish as a skill is concerned but that's not what she takes from it. She has a sensitivity to life and those around her. She is a good person that wants to help others. The author, through Cat, treats the story with respect and humour which engages the reader and entertains throughout. Saying that Granny Grace was also nice.
Which character – as performed by Angel Clark – was your favourite?
I'd still say Cat. For all the same reasons. I loved the narration in general. If the reader isn't good they can spoil the book. Angel Clark does a really good job of drawing you into this generally entertaining and engaging book which has great characters and a brilliant and engaging plot.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I was going to listen for an hour in my first sitting. I think it ended up being just over two hours. I was drawn into the book by the story and the narration. So yes. It is a book that you can sit and listen too and get into all in one go.
Any additional comments?
A brilliant book. Get it!! You will love it from start to finish. Its a new take on the detective genre in a refreshing and entertaining way.

It seems that we are seeing more and more books that merge genres. I have read several mysteries with touches of the paranormal, some of which have been enhanced by the combination, some of which haven’t. The author combines the paranormal elements with the mystery in natural and unforced ways that make this book a treat for people who like both genres.
The author intertwines the mystery, the personal story of Cat and her family, and her romances seamlessly, with no one theme detracting from any of the others. She writes with a light touch, and can express both humor and tragedy with understanding and sensitivity. I, for one, hope to see more of this series, since the premise, and the exposition of that premise both work for me, and work very well.
The narrator provided a fully professional performance.

Well I think this is the first time I have ever read a book and then turned around and immediately listened to the audio version! I would have to say - I liked it! It was kind of like reading a book then watching the movie. Only better because they change things in a movie version, and in an audio its exactly the same.
I think I liked the audio even better than the print book! Maybe just slightly better. It was certainly fun listening to it! And I usually read pretty carefully, but there were things that I heard on the audio that I didn't remember in the book. So I didn't feel like it was a waste to do both - I'm glad I did both! And it reaffirmed my love for Cat! I think I loved her even more in the audio! I thought the reader's voice was perfect for Cat.
And once again - I am really looking forward to reading/listening to the rest of the series!
