Summary
With her wedding to Hudson just months away, all Lovita's plans seem to be going awry. A crooked politician is running for mayor, his girlfriend is opening a new beauty shop in town, and the contractor building Sue Jan and Monroe's dream home is found dead, with Monroe the prime suspect. To top it all off, the money from the high school band's fundraiser has disappeared. Now the kids won't be able to go to New York City to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Before Lovita walks down the aisle, all the girls have to do is nail the real killer, find the missing money, save their beauty shop, and rescue the little town of Wachita. Can two big, bodaciously beautiful women do it? Piece of cake.

Great story
After reading some of the reviews I was not quite sure what to expect from this story but I was pleasantly surprised. it's a great little story about 2 best friends around whom a whole lot of shenanigans is going on..
All ends well though.
Great narration from Michelle Babb.
I definitely recommend to all cozy mystery fans and Michelle Babb fans.

Good but missed the mark for me
I found this book an easy one to listen to, it's not a complex read and Michelle, as always, does a wonderful job of bringing it to life through her narration. I just felt that the story itself was built around some amusing names and it didn't grip me throughout. I don't think it reflects the series as a whole, and I have other books of this series in my library - which I'll get to next. It's just while I enjoyed this one, it felt a little forced and unplanned at times. It was an easy listen though and good for working away while you listen.

Really enjoyable - narration was brilliant
Oh I just love listening to a Michelle Babb story it is like cozying up to a warm electric blanket. I just loved the way the story unfolded. The accents were brilliant - well they were for an Australian living in the UK. Just loved it and loved the story.
The story itself was a really nice cozy story, I hadn't listened to volumes one or two but will be listening to more. It didnt seem to really matter that I hadn't listened to the others as I was able to pick up. Cant wait to hear more from the cousins.
I was given a free review copy by the narrator bu this is no way influenced my review.

Dead as a doornail
This is a good story well read by Michelle Babb who does a great job developing the many characters. It is funny in places and made me laugh out loud a couple of times. The police are chasing their tails as usual concentrating on obvious suspects and getting it all wrong. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a nice short Cozy mystery.
I was kindly given this copy of the book by the narrator and have left the honest and voluntary review.

Nothing dead about this mystery
I really enjoyed this book. With so much going on it had me hooked from the very start and I even linked the home life, the wedding planning. I enjoyed the mystery side to the story but it was the characters that really captured my imagination. They were we fun and I liked the small town feel of the book which the author described well enough that it was easy to picture. This is book three and I think I might have to check out the rest of the books in the series.
Planning a wedding is stress full enough but add in a dead contract and your best friends husband accused of the murder and things go off the rails. Lovita and Sue Jan, best friends and the owners of a beauty shop, have there work cut out for them to prove Sue Jan husband is innocent. Small town life continues around them and so do the mysteries with another beauty shop opening up by there arch enemy, fund raising for the school band and money that goes missing, play host to some unwanted guests in the form of distant cusions down on there luck, a mayor election campaign to win if only they can keep everybody's attention on the fact that Sue Jan husband was only a person of interest and hair to cut. Can the ladies find out what happened to the drunk handyman, keep the mayor campaign on track and get ready for a wedding?
I think one of the reasons I really enjoyed the book is because the narrator did such a good job bringing the characters to life. I especially liked the use of accents.
