Try and read these books in order, this is the last one.
It was like The Running Man, kill or be killed; and Griff's wife is not only fighting to save herself, but their unborn child. The tension was cranked up throughout the story but the author then blurted out the ending, disregarding the time you'd invested in the characters and their captors. It was very much a ....bang, the end.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Beverly Barton could have tied up the story in 2 books withoutwasting time with a far-fatched conveluted story. I was very disappointed with book 3.
Has Dead by Nightfall turned you off from other books in this genre?
No-unless the next one is also has unbelievable & complicated characters.
What aspect of Karen White’s performance would you have changed?
She drew out the scenario of the kidnappling & evil characters for too long.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Dead by Nightfall?
Half of the capture scenes.
Any additional comments?
Beverly Barton could have made a believable story in 3 hours instead of 7.
yes, thank you, Beverley, this is better than 1 and possible 2 too. I liked 2, but this is different again and certainly full of suspense and has plenty of thrills as well. I like the premise from a suspense/thriller point of view and would not be surprised if at least some of this book was partly true. Human beings can wallow in the depths of depravity as well as reaching the heights of greatness through creativity & achievements to better the human condition. This book takes us on that journey and the classic fight for good over evil. All in all and enjoyable listen and narrated well.
