Summary

Es ist Sommer, eine Hitzewelle lähmt die Stadt, als Niels Bentzon spätabends ein Anruf der Einsatzleitung erreicht. Selbstmordversuch. Eine junge Frau steht auf der Brücke über dem Bahnhof Dybbøl und droht herunterzustürzen. Sie ist splitternackt und steht unter Drogeneinfluss. Bentzon, der für solche Krisensituationen geschult ist, eilt zum Einsatzort, aber er ist zum ersten Mal in seiner Karriere machtlos. Die junge Frau springt in die Tiefe und ist sofort tot. Bentzon glaubt nicht an Selbstmord und nimmt die Ermittlungen auf. Bei der Toten handelt es sich um Dicte van Hauen, Primaballerina des Königlichen Balletts Kopenhagen. Sie stammt aus einer wohlhabenden Familie und war ein Weltstar - warum sollte sie sich umbringen?

Tatsächlich ergibt die Obduktion, dass jemand versucht hat, sie zu ertränken. Zudem finden sich Spuren von Ketamin, Amphetamin, Kokain und Ritalin in ihrem Blut. Doch damit nicht genug, auf ihrem Brustkorb finden sich die Abdrücke eines Defibrillators. Die junge Frau wurde kurz vor ihrem Tod wiederbelebt. Die Tat eines Wahnsinnigen?
