Publisher's Summary

After Will Harper, a bomb-squad officer for the NYPD, is injured in the field, he retires early. But when his former partner is blown up, along with a paranoid best-selling author and his Florida estate, Harper's idle days are over. Suddenly Harper is tracking a serial killer who is as expert in explosives as any terrorist, and not too shy about selecting targets at the center of the celebrity spotlight. With a former partner and a resurrected dead case file, Harper seeks out help from the FBI, but not from their most inside agents. He chooses an African-American woman, whose gender and race put her on the outside of the political career track, but whose savvy and creative thinking make her the perfect ally to bring in the Celebrity Bomber. This is a fast-paced, gritty suspense novel guaranteed to keep listeners on the edge of their seats.

What did you like most about Final Seconds?

The story was more important than the "heros" From the very beginning the bombs were the story. The fact that the authorities did not accept the possibility there was a link to the bombings and two middle aged men were the ones who had to solve the problem was fun.

Have you listened to any of Barrett Whitener’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This was my first time listening to one of Mr Whitenenr's narrations, He was excellent, I particularly liked his portrayal of the disgraced FBI profiler, his excitement his insistence that everything must be dropped and his theories attended to now, comes across vefry well. I could visualise him almost jumping up and down in his excitement

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Alas yes, it was really hard to switch off and go to sleep. Indeed I would discourage anyone from listening this in bed, the temptation to" listen just 5 minutes more" is fatal.!

Any additional comments?

This is a really good book, fast paced, with just the right amount of intrigue to keep the listener on edge. I really enjoyed it. This was my introduction the these authors, I look forward to listening to more of their work
