Summary
Eric Chalmers is one of the most popular teachers at Muirpark Secondary School in Glasgow. Gentle and kind, he is the person the students come to when they want to confide in someone. So when precocious teenager Julie Donaldson accuses Chalmers of rape, the school goes into shock. How could a deeply religious family man like Chalmers do anything like that?
With some students and teachers supporting Julie and others standing by Chalmers, life at Muirpark is far from harmonious. And then things get much worse - Julie Donaldson goes missing, and the police are called in.
For DCI William Lorimer, this is the second missing person case in a week. He's been having sleepless nights about a toddler who has been missing for several days - with each day, the likelihood of her being found alive diminishes. Julie's disappearance adds a further burden to Lorimer's already overstretched workload.
With hope fading, it becomes a breakneck race against time to find both missing girls.

Odd recording
It may have been my iPhone but it seems the recording was mixed up so made the story hard to follow. Chapter 23 had bits of chapter 30 in so I ended up going back on myself and checking I hadn't skipped things. Otherwise it was a good story

Good story, Bad Editing
I'm enjoying this series of DCI Lorimer stories however as with the previous book the editing is poor.
I got to chapter 20 and suddenly during Lorimer's interview with a suspect it jumps to what seems like a totally unrelated part of storyline. I thought at the time it didn't fit but carried on, if a little confused. It wasn't until I reached chapter 30 that this same paragraph/dialogue was repeated which fitted better with the plot.
Despite this confusion I did enjoy the story

Story great but let down by poor editing
Really enjoying series but yet again spoilt by multiple repetitions of text. So irritating. Please fix this.

Please look At the recording of this
Love the book, and the narrator, however the recording is not good. At one stage I got a different voice saying now for disk 2 and at another stage, halfway through a chapter suddenly it skipped to a bit from nearer the end of the book. It made it hard to follow and sadly distracted from a good story, please look at re-editing this, thank You

Posh Glasgow
The Morningside droning accent of the narrator detracted from what is a very good story
Mel Gibson had a more convincing accent in Braveheart.
A glaswegan narrator, not from North Kelvinside perhaps, would have sounded more authentic and made the overall star award a 4.5.

Recording problems
Recording gaps in chapter 22 - jumps from one interview to another - the one with Kyle breaks off half way through.

BORING
I have only got to chapter 2 - cant stand the drone of the narrator any longer. Sadly am going to return it & get something with a bit more 'go' in it ...
