What a delight - what a surprise

When I started listening to Ali Land's Good me Bad me, I thought I had made a big mistake in buying the book. I found Hannah Murray's soft monotone voice infuriating and off-putting. How wrong I was - 'never judge a book by its cover' - excuse the near pun.

Hannah Murray's reading of this engrossing and must listen too story was perfect.

So, my only complaint is that it is 4.30am and I only wish I had started listening earlier yesterday so that I could at least have had a decent night's sleep. I'm knackered 😴

Narrator KILLED this for me

Within five minutes I was wondering whether I'd be able to listen to the end of the chapter; pathetic, feelingless monotone. I understand that this can be done for effect - the narrator is numbed by her horrific early experiences - but, for the love of mercy, don't inflict it on the listener.

Tone livens up a bit as the story progresses but not much and it's a BIG deal to an audiobook.

My strong recommendation would be to read the book, not listen to the audiobook.
