What the Critics Say

‘'The novel's complex plot shoots along at a terrific rate, gathering momentum. But what puts flesh on the bones and raises Mitchell's writing above the run of gangland thrillers is its psychological level" (Independent)
"Mitchell outguns Martina Cole for pure, shocking East End gangster grit." (Mirror)

Interesting story, badly written

It was an interesting story with plenty of suspense. The characters were engaging, up-to a point. I really wanted to know what would happen and so I kept listening to the end. Maybe it's just a generation thing, but the way it was written really annoyed me. Too much street vernacular and the whole book really had neither depth nor subtlety.
