Critic reviews

‘'The novel's complex plot shoots along at a terrific rate, gathering momentum. But what puts flesh on the bones and raises Mitchell's writing above the run of gangland thrillers is its psychological level" ( Independent)
"Mitchell outguns Martina Cole for pure, shocking East End gangster grit." ( Mirror)

Interesting story, badly written

It was an interesting story with plenty of suspense. The characters were engaging, up-to a point. I really wanted to know what would happen and so I kept listening to the end. Maybe it's just a generation thing, but the way it was written really annoyed me. Too much street vernacular and the whole book really had neither depth nor subtlety.
