Summary

1957. Lord James Harrington and his wife, Beth, run a country hotel in the village of Cavendish, deep in the heart of West Sussex. James and Beth are discussing the latest Cavendish Players production, The Devil Incarnate, when their cleaner informs them that farmer Alec Grimes is missing.

Thin, anachronistic piffle

I love classic crime, to read or via Audible, and can listen endlessly to Dorothy L. Sayers. There is no aristo sleuth to beat Wimsey but, had Harrington - or the writing - been 10% as good, I would have been satisfied. He isn’t.

I'm Officially Hooked On Lord Harrington

Now that I'm totally attached to these characters you simply must add the other ones from this series to your list of offerings at Audible,... not fair getting me hooked without a follow up .

More less than more.

Plot is hidden among descriptions of clothing and dinner menus. A bit tedious to keep searching for the story.
