Somebody must be joking!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Nothing. Brilliant stories murdered (pardon the pun!) by a totally inept narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jane McDowell’s performances?

She might be fine reading something else but never this.

Any additional comments?

This is a Golden Age of Detectives set of stories. LPW is an upper class sleuth beautifully portrayed by other narrators, including Iain Carmichael. A not very talented young female narrator couldn’t even begin to do this justice. I am a female myself and have an open mind about who narrates things even if it’s very different to someone who has made the stories his own but honestly this is just the worst mismatch I have ever heard!

Good, even with the blips

I would have got three 5-stars if the narrator had not made so many mistakes in pronunciation.
(Not really that many but I'm a pedant).
