Summary

When children begin to go missing, Detective Connor McLain pursues every lead at his disposal. At least until Michele Easton comes to him with information she should not have.

Although she claims the info had come to her in visions, Conner is skeptical. Until the threats begin arriving - then his suspicion is replaced with concern. Somehow Michele calls to every protective instinct he has. Michele had sworn she'd never speak of her dreams again. But her fear for the missing children is compelling.

At first Conner McLain typifies everything she'd come to expect from the police. But she hadn't expected to entrust the man with her life. She hadn't expected to fall in love....

My first Kylie Brant book… I’ll try some more

The story was engaging but not challenging so a nice light listen. The ending of the book was a little on the weak side letting the story down. Did the author run out of time to meet a deadline and rush or did she want a ‘happy’ ending?

This was my first Kylie Brant book. It was ok (not too bad) so I’ll try another one by her. Narration was fine.

Misogynistic tones

I really enjoyed the Adam Raker Forensics series and thought I'd listen to this as it's included with my premium membership. I expected more from a female writer tbh. The male protagonist is such a misogynistic egotistical man who thinks he can control the woman and has to, needs to protect her. That she NEEDS his help and protection and unable to fend for herself. The female protagonist is written strong but still has those old fashioned tones of the damsel in distress and falls for a strong doting man. It really irked me how the characters are written unfortunately. The story in itself isn't too bad.

Not as good as mindhunters

It's an easy listen but pales in comparison to mindhunters. The FMC is weak and misses common sense, the male character is misogynistic egotistic a+hole. The plot is weak and there is nowhere near enough information on the case or what it is the detective actually does.

Mystery or romance?

The story was spoilt for me with too much attention to Michelle and Connor and not enough about the kids

Entertaining

A little heavy on the love interest, but overall an newish slant on the storyline. Enjoyable, will look for next in the series.

Very boring

Obviously the author ran out of ideas then filled in with copious amount of descriptive sex scenes. Might have been a decent story otherwise.

Lost the plot if there was one!

Not much to the actual story. I found both main characters irritating, at each others throats one minute for little or no reason then making love the next. Enjoyed the Mind Hunter series more so a bit disappointed with this one.
