I need to say a disclaimer, I'm biased, this was my very first Graham Masterton book I ever read almost 25 years ago. I went on to become a massive fan of his and while I felt some of his later books lost me slightly, I remain loyal to the end
Mirror was just a wonderful book to read when I was 14, I have read it multiple times since and was thrilled to find it available for audio
It is set in Hollywood in the 80's and aside from a few tv series mentioned and monetary non inflations, the story is relatively timeless.
A child actor called Boofuls from the 1920's was brutally murdered and his spirit ended up in the mirror which witnessed the crime. 60 years later a screenwriter and fan buys the mirror and all Hell breaks loose... Literally. Boofuls was most definitely not what he appeared to be
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story, the mythology of mirrors is explored and there are some wonderful references to CS Lewis as well. It is also wonderfully read by Robert Slade who brings a wonderful childlike evil to the main character as well as some excellent accents of other characters
This is just a great, old school, horror story. Once read, you will be definitely checking out Graham Masterton's back catalogue

I read this book over 20 years ago and really enjoyed it but the audio version just brings it to life. I listened to it all in one go, couldn't switch it off. One of Masterton's scarier stories, a must for horror fans.

My mom used to read this to me before bed, still a childhood favorite!
The story & narration was excellent. The narrator's voice & intonation of the characters really matched the horror theme of the book. Very well done.
