Anne Granger manages to produce a string of murder mysteries that are different enough to avoid becoming formulaic. She aims for a lighter, entertaining style of detective fiction that avoids the gritty reality of, say, Ian Rankin or Peter Robinson.
You need to concentrate while listening to the early chapters of this particular story because the main characters are introduced into the story relatively quickly and you need to remember who is whom. However, as usual for Anne Granger books, the personalities of the various characters are well-defined and one can follow the story.
Judith Boyd is an excellent reader and certainly helps to fix a picture of the different characters in ones mind. Important for an audio book.

I always enjoy Ann Granger and this didn't disappoint. As ever a great mystery I love the various different misleading "clues" kept me glued to the book. Great read.

A little slow to start, but a nice English mystery. The characters are well written, and the ending pleasant.
I really do not know what I expected when I got this audio book, but I wish there was a way to return it and get my money back for a different book. I could not listen to more than the 2 hours I did. The accent made it hard to listen (my parents have huge accents, so I am not sure why that is). The story was VERY slow and boring. I only listened to as much as I did, because I did not have anything else to listen to, but even then I had to stop, because it was giving me a headache. At least this book thought me to preview; before I buy, because it was nothing like what I was expecting after reading the story description. Give it a try if you dare; you MIGHT like it anyway. Each listener is different.
